What does the output of `lsusb -v` describe the mouse as? If it's a
keyboard, it may be sending keystrokes when powered on.

I have a "CM Strom Spawn" gaming mouse. If the mouse is plugged in at
startup, grub shows the boot menu. When I disconnect he mouse, it's
booting in the normal way.
