Hi Alessandro!

First thanks for the quick response.
Yes I followed that link for the ISO and now I understand that it actually WAS 12.04. 
I found a solution for the Mirror failure though:

I added

91.189.92.175 ports.ubuntu.com mirror

to

/etc/hosts

and the installer could find the ubuntu mirror site.

BUT NOW THE INSTALLER HAVE FROZEN AT "Configuring target system" so it
still wont work :-(

Bug description:
  I was trying to install Ubuntu 11.10 (it actually says 12.04 LTS /
  dont understand why) I got to about 15% of the system install when it
  was trying to reach the mirrorserver, (I am connected to internet with
  Ethernet cable) and it crashed. Tried it again with the same result.
  Uploaded a bug report from ubuntu.
