Can you attach the file /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu
.com_ubuntu_dists_natty-updates_main_i18n_Index to the bugreport?

After that you can remove the file from your system and run 'apt-get
udpate' again.

Looks like the file doesn't include what APT had requested for the
internet. That can happen for example if your internet provider shows a
landing page on first connection to the internet or asks for a password
or something like that, but doesn't tell APT that it can't satisfy the
request, but does something utterly different.

  Cannot update or install packages

Status in “apt” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I am using ubuntu 11.04 and I am unable to install packages from the
  universe multiverse main extras. I have enabled these repositories but
  while reloading package information it is telling a Hashsum mismatch.
  I tried changing the download server, using command line apt-get
  update apt-getclean etc but it didnt solve the issue
