[Bug 803040] Re: Cannot update or install packages

This is what I experience. Whenever I run update it returns the error: 
E: Unable to parse package file /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty-updates_main_i18n_Index (1)
Also I am not able to install any package available in repository main

Title:
  Cannot update or install packages

Status in “apt” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I am using ubuntu 11.04 and I am unable to install packages from the
  universe multiverse main extras. I have enabled these repositories but
  while reloading package information it is telling a Hashsum mismatch.
  I tried changing the download server, using command line apt-get
  update apt-getclean etc but it didnt solve the issue
