Title:
Disk deleted after undoing "Use Entire Disk"
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubiquity
I was playing with new installer in a virtual machine (virtualbox) in
order to have screenshot to use in new edition of a book about
maverick. The virtual machine had a MS Windows on it, in order to have
some explanatory figure about partition resizing.
Following the next steps, Windows was erased and Ubuntu was installed instead.
1- choose "Install them side by side" --> preview shows [ Win | Ubuntu ]
2- choose "Use Entire Disk" --> preview shows [ Ubuntu ]
3- choose "Split Largest Partition" --> preview shows [ Win | Ubuntu ]
As I said, I was playing with new UI, but after step 3, due to the
displayed preview, I was sure to preserve Windows proceeding to
install. Fortunately it was a snapshotted virtual machine :) I'll
provide parman log in the next days, by now I've restored previous vm
status.
PS IMHO could be really really good provide more info about "Use
Entire Partition/Disk" and "Split Largest Partition", ideally
tooltips. Moreover could be really appreciated some documentation on
ubuntu wiki, about the exact behavior of new installer.
