Thanks Brian.  /dev/sda8 just has lost/found in it since it was
formatted ext3 by Gparted a few days ago.

/dev/sda8 was not the target of the install.  /dev/sdc1 was.

Come to think of it, /dev/sda8 was previously target of an install where
ubiquity failed see bug 815634.

I'll reformat /dev/sda8 and try to install on /dev/sdc1 which is what i
was trying to do when I got bug #815900.
