Status in “base-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: debian-installer

  Installing from the Ubuntu server i386 CD on a kvm virtual machine
  with 512MB of RAM I ended up having the pae kernel installed.  The
  host machine has more than 4GB of RAM though.
