[Bug 799174] Re: Show graphical packages only.

USC already hides non-graphical packages by default, showing them if you
click the "Show __ technical items" link (which is present only if there
are any). It shows non-graphical packages by default in select areas
where it is appropriate: Fonts, Science & Engineering, Mathematics,
Developer Tools, and most of the Developer Tools subcategories.
So, in what situations specifically have users been confused by command-
line applications being shown?
Further, if that is a problem, how would an option to show graphical
packages only help? It seems implausible that someone would be confused,
and then find and toggle the option, and then become non-confused.
I am marking this Incomplete only for the first question. If there is a
problem, we can adjust this bug report to describe the problem, and then
consider alternative possible solutions.

Title:
Show graphical packages only.
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Binary package hint: software-center
Software center should have an option to show all graphical packages only.
Since software center is only used by only end users, it makes no sense to show command line applications. Showing all applications often confuses the users since when they install a command line application it wont appear in the menus.
