It is not uncommon to use a different language than the official
language(s) in your current country. Especially english on server
installations, since you don't get many hits if you search for a
Norwegian error message on Google. Or you may live in another country
for some time, and want the operating system display in your language,
but use the local currency/time/date/number/etc.

This is not a problem on other operating systems, like Windows and OS X,
so please fix this in Ubuntu as well in the next version or in an
update.

Title:
  Allow selecting a different $LC_MESSAGES and $LANG

Status in “localechooser” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: debian-installer

When selecting English as the preferred language and Norway as the country, I get a message stating that no locale is defined for the combination of language and country.
I am then presented a list where I am able to select different English locales but not the Norwegian locale.

  Tested on ubuntu-11.04-beta1-alternate-amd64.iso
