So surely either python 2.6 or 2.7 would suffice.

Right now the python-rpm package dependencies list both libpython2.6 and
libpython2.7 as depends. That is too much.

Title:
  python-rpm requires both libpython2.6 libpython2.7

Status in “rpm” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: rpm

This causes python2.6 to be installed, even when the rest of the packages are content with using python 2.7.
Is this a mistake in packaging?
