That's the beauty of test systems - wiping them out and starting over really
helps me understand some of the important details.

I rarely get anything to work properly the first time out. Maybe it's me,
but I wouldn't do anything new without being prepared to wipe it clean and
start over.

I have worked with a lot of DSL modems, but not that particular brand. If
it is in bridge mode (should be from your description) you need to get it
into router mode to configure it. All of the modems I have dealt with
default to router mode (reset button somewhere). Once you have it in router
mode, you can usually log into it through a browser pointed at its LAN IP
(be forewarned, default mode also includes DHCP server on all the modems I
know of). From there, it is a matter of finding the spot to enter your
user/pass, and make any VPI/VCI adjustments if your modem does not detect
the settings automagically. Better check with your ISP before getting
started.
