Installing Ubuntu LTSP on a GIS lab

Hi,

Are there anybody who have experience installing edubuntu LTSP on a
GIS lab?  We intend to try LTSP with a GIS lab using FOSS GIS like
GRASS, QGIS, mapserver, etc. cad (qcad0 as well as stats like R.

GIS operations tends to be RAM intensive.  Has anybody tried this?
What are your experience on this setup?

Any ideas would be helpful?
