Sound Volume on Feisty thin-clients

This may be a stupid question, but...heck....I don't know.  So...I'm
getting an Edubuntu Feisty server up and running and I cannot figure out
how to control the volume on the thin-clients!  :-(  I thought the volume
control would work....but nothing.  The volume is too low and I need to
boost it.  I had an MP3 playing and I could hear it but barely....moving
the volume control up and down did nothing.  Same thing with
games....nothing.  What did I miss?
