Problems with Chinese caracters input in KDE applications

Hello

I'am wondering why I can't type Chinese tradional
characters in KDE applications such as kate and others
like that. In gnome applications there is no problem,
I'm using SCIM. I have installed Edubuntu 6.06, Dapper
Drake. 

The programs that I developed for my classroom are KDE
applications and there is no way how to input Chinese
characters.

I suppose that I need to install some aditional
packages.
I will apreciated very much any advise on this
subject.
