cupsys problems

Hi,

we're experiencing terrible problems with cups. We currently have two
print queues, one is a hp network laserjet 2300, the other is a HP DeskJet
845C hooked to a thin client.

Twice this week, all print queues stopped spooling to the printer.
Restarting cups makes no difference, clearing the queues doesn't change
anything either. On Tuesday I removed all print queues and added them back
afresh. This fixed the problem until this morning when it recurred. I
noticed this message on the CUPS forums so I have tried downgrading to
1.2.0 for now to see if it helps. This is mostly desperation.

I've looked at logs, with debug mode on and there's nothing terribly
obvious.

A few lines we're seeing regularly are:

I [28/Sep/2006:10:00:03 +0100] CUPS-Get-Default client-error-not-found: No default printer

I [26/Sep/2006:14:22:05 +0100] CUPS-Get-Default client-error-not-found: No default printer

Has anyone come across this problem?

Gavin
