A nifty little program that kids like, how could we integrate this?

I and a small group of developers, Dennda(Ubuntu Member), Encompass(GSoC
2007), acspike(inkscape-dev), are finishing up the programming for a
nifty program called MeMaker, it is a program to create avatars for your
many different things on your computer and in the web.
MeMaker can make a variety of different avatars using a collection of
svg's that are preinstalled. You can also, at option, install
theme.MeMaker packages that add even more features that can be used to
create the avatars. We have 3 or 4 artist working on more art work.
If you would like to see MeMaker in action, check it out here...

This video is old, but will give you an idea of what we are making.
One of the features I want to implement is exporting these images
automatically into many different applications.
For example, your log-in picture could be changed to your avatar with
this program. Perhaps you would like to change your avatars all at once
in Gaim. Or even on-line web-forms.
Where you come in:
You know what software is in Edubuntu, what other programs could
integrate personalized avatars into there programs.
Perhaps GCompri?
Maybe some hischore lists?
How about on-line games, can we have these avatars built in?
Games for small children?
Schooltool?
Where else could this be used?

I am very excited to get things rolling here and really have MeMaker
improve the quality of the user's experience and the software it can
work along with.

I was thinking of 2 different approaches for the integrations.
1. We make changeds from MeMaker that change the avatar of the program.
2. We make a special svg based avatar that all programs can quickly
convert to png, jpg, gif, or what ever, so they can use it in there
program. It would just look for the .MeMaker.svg file in their home
folder.
I prefer number 2. But I want to implement number 1 also, so that
programmers that don't have the time or want to integrate MeMaker can
have the alternative of MeMaker doing the changes anyway. (Like on-line
webforums.)
What do you think?
We have a strong programming base, a great collection of art building
up, and a powerful OS to run it on. I think it's a perfect way to make
Edubuntu more fun and personal for students and youth.
To try it out... It is still in very early development, we are finishing
up the gui now and adding the engine for picture merging soon, you can
check it out here...

Have fun!
If you want to contribute art or programming time, we are always willing
to take more on board. Drop me an email, or feel free to talk to me
using this account in jabber.
Moikka!
