ok I solved it, thanks Gavin , apparently I HAVE to tell which
color_Depth I want to use, the XSERVER setting was ok. If I leave out
the color_depth only the newer boxes work but defining the colour
depth to be 16 or 24 works for all and 32 works for none... strange
