what version of edubuntu are you using (dapper, feisty, gutsy)?

I gather you're using the on-board network card for PXE and not adding a
second.  You can see the above problem when a second NIC is put in for PXE
support but the booting system tries to do dhcp on the first NIC.

I recently tried out some (I think) GX110s which worked without special
configuration in feisty.

I would guess that the XDM_SERVER, SCREEN_07, SCREEN_02 lines are not
relevant.  However, the first two are.  Perhaps try changing X_COLOR_DEPTH
to 15 and 24 and see what happens.
