client mga-onboard + usplash startup screen -> ugly wrong colors and no X

Hello,

"never change a running system" or "courage to riskio"
I ?ve changed from breezy to edgy. Testing at home was fine. But in my 
school there are new hurdles.

My clients are Siemens Pro C5 with MGA onboard. This VGA-Card was 
recognized by the ltsp-system in breezy (xserver=auto).
(Now Edgy with ltsp 5) I have to write xserver=vesa to reach the 
login-screen. No way with xserver=auto or xserver=mga!
Have you an idea about it?

The usplash startup screen on the client side is very dark, the colors 
are wrong. It is ugly and so "no advertisement" for edubuntu.
Is there an easy way to change it or to switch off the startup screen?
