MP3 PLAYER

Hello everyone!!
   Id need some help about installing xmms on my computer!
I downloded the xmms, but it craches when i choose a song to play!!
Plus the TOTEN dont recognize the mp3 files.
What should I do to start playing .mp3 files on my computer??
