I have read the logs and I agree with Robie's and Dan's concerns. Nevertheless, I have also reviewed Simon's SRUs and work - not a big amount, yes - and I'm confident he will be able to help with the universe packages.

IMO we should start thinking in diminishing blockers for contributors. The perfect is enemy of the good. If the candidate has good enough contributions and knowledge about the procedures, he should be accepted for less important roles (than core devs, which I think we should always keep the bar high).
