Several hundred times a day is not "not that often".  It is 
a gross malfeature, a major speed bump for non-technical users 
and a constant source of irritation.

Sometimes when I click on a jpg file, I can actually see the 
dialog change from "Open with GQview" to ... nothing.  It's 
literally someone who knows that I am too stupid to use a 
computer, slapping my hand and saying, "
