Edgy became a release candidate and this bug is still wide open!

The only way to get rid of those freezes is to comment out Load "dri" in
xorg.conf. Maybe this should be the default for all modern ATI cards as
a workaround?

Also, why does this bug not show up at
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bugs ?
