Public bug reported:

Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Minor
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
I was suprised to find that the volume control knob on my USB headphones
is actually handled by Ubuntu: a small overlay window appears in the
centre of the screen and volume is changed. However, the problem is
that the knob controls the volume setting of my internal soundcard
rather than the external USB headphones.

In fact, when I just tried to reproduce this bug (I had noticed it
earlier) I couldn't get the knob to work at all -- no overlay window
would appear. This could be a regression in gnome-media, or just a
quirk with my computer. If I can get it to work again, I'll let you
know.

** Changed in: gnome-media (Ubuntu)
     Severity: Normal => Minor
