Breezey
ATI Rage 128 using the xorg driver
2.6.12-8 686 kernel (NOT experienced with 386 kernel)

In any x terminal (gnome-terminal, xterm ,etc) any key activity that results in
a system beep (backspace @ start of prompt _or_ shell tab completion) results in
a flash of the entire display (desktop -> black -> desktop).
