It certainly does work with other usb mass storage devices. but the error quoted
by you sounds like a FAT error. maybe that is coming from the firmware my player
uses atm. it is not a FAT device, but a "iriver manager" device. i have to use a
tool called "ifp", to access the player. using this tool, the result is same as
with FAT: "ls" works, upload/download not.
