This works fine for me with both Breezy upgraded from Hoary, and Breezy
installed from scratch.

On a fresh breezy, /etc/gconf/schemas does not exist at all. On a hoary->breezy
upgrade, the directory exist, but does not normally contain a g-v-m.schemas
file. Did you manally add this at some time? Seb, if you use the gconf editor as
root or in a special way, does it write files into /etc/gconf?

> /usr/share/gconf/schemas/gnome-volume-manager.schemas

This is the actual system default which is supposed to be used.
