Ubuntu | gnome-menus
Summary: Submenus can not be moved back to the root-menu
"Applications" after once moved to another Menu. (Using
Smeg, but bug in gnome-menus!)
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gnome-menus
AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: master.chris at web.de
QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
I have already written this bugreport for the component "smeg", but the developer says
this bug is in "gnome-menus".
My System:
i686-smp (intel-ht) 2,6 ghz, 512 mb ram
ubuntu breezy badger 5.10, all updates that are now available.
-german localized version
How it occoured:
(In Smeg:)
1. SubMenu for Multimedia Applications (I think in german: "Multimediaanwendungen")
renamed in "Multimedia"
2. Menu dragged and dropped to games menu ("Spiele")
3. Wanted the menu back to the Applications root-menu ("Anwendungen"), dragged it and
dropped it to the root-menu.
4. The Menu is back in Smeg.
5. (BUG!) In the gnome Applications-Menu on the panel, this change is not visible! The
menu "Multimedia" stays as a submenu in the "games"-menu.
On other changes, Smeg works well. All changes in the menus are accepted and visible
in the gnome-applications menu.
Interesting: if I drop the "Multimedia" submenu on another menu, for example "Office",
this change is also visible in the gnome menu. Only dropping it back to the root-menu
does not work for the gnome-panel-menu "applications".
