Most DVCS tools support fastimport one way or another, but if that was
the result of some sort of summit I certainly have missed it. Ian
extended the fastimport format to support some of the metadata that bzr
stores that git doesn't, but this data trips up git's fastimport AFAIK
(that's why bzr-fastexport has a --plain option) and fastimport still
remains git-oriented and lossy when used for bzr.

I agree, we probably won't see a convergence of disk formats but
interoperability is important as ever.
