I haven't tried to do a Loggerhead install for a while, I got mine
working a few months ago and haven't touched it since as it "Just
Works". However, at the risk of offending someone trying to do a good
job . . .

Documentation for Loggerhead installation and management was basically
non-existent, see for example
http://doc.bazaar.canonical.com/plugins/en/loggerhead-plugin.html and
https://launchpad.net/loggerhead. Worse Google is not that helpful,
"loggerhead bazaar" finds mostly stuff about the Launchpad page or old
out-dated blogs of people moaning about the state of the documentation.
It's as though Loggerhead was by Launchpad for Launchpad with no thought
of any other installation. Looking at the various blog entries turned
out to be useless as sometime during the 1.17 life the control
information got completely revolutionized. I had to come to this list
to get anywhere. It was great that I got a response with a couple of
hours that put me on the right road, but I shouldn't have had to come
here to get such basic stuff.

I assume 1.18 will make it into Ubuntu Server 11.04? (I really don't
want to get into manual download and install of something that has
packages in the standard Ubuntu distribution.) I may have to switch my
server to Fedora/CentOS/RHEL but they seem to package Loggerhead
properly, which is good.

OK, end of rant. As for Loggerhead itself, as the advert says "it does
what it says on the can".
