That's not a "catch".  That is the whole rationale for open source.

You have the machine.  You have (as much as is granted by the vendor
of your chosen platform, and We Know You Do Have A Choice Of
Platforms) the documentation for it.  And we give you the source.  So
fix it yourself.  (For values of "you" == Somebody with the Same
Platform as You with Advice from the Bazaar Devs on the Bazaar Side of
the API.)  Or pay for support in some other coin.
