There are a set of bzr-* packages provided in Ubuntu. What has been the
biggest problem in using the PPA for me is that there has been no
consistent management of the whole set and I think this has to be done
for the PPA to be useful.
From my experience, the PPA for Bazaar has been of no use at all because
as soon as you use a plugin via its Bazaar branch you are inexorably
drawn to have to use bzr.dev. The only alternative is to stay with the
packages from the current distribution and not upgrade at all between
distribution releases.
So either the PPA has to keep an up to date and consistent set of all
packages involved in the distribution or there is no point as far as a
user such as myself is concerned. This may be seen as too much effort,
but on the other hand it makes making things ready for the next Ubuntu
distribution almost trivially easy.
