For what it's worth, I thought I'd mention the workflow we recommend to
people.

The project is java-gnome, a library that allows people to write GNOME
programs with GTK user interfaces from Java. Most people developing with
it [and more to the point, most people hacking on the library] use
Eclipse, and these are the instructions we encourage people to follow:
