In this thread, it has been said that

 - heavyweight checkouts == bound branches
 - heavyweight checkouts /= bound branches
 - heavyweight checkouts ~= bound branches
 - and now, that "bound branches" are ~75% ur-bound-branches and ~25%
heavyweight checkouts.

and there's not a place in the docs that really define these concepts,
so a newbie can understand their similarities and differences (bzr
help checkouts being closer, but lacking).

So I agree with Eli's comment that "the main problem is that they use
obscure phrases or terminology that is not explained where it is used,
sometimes not explained anywhere."
