2.0 milestones - headsup

Just a note to folk working on 2.0:
there are *two* active milestones:
- 2.0
- 2.0rc2
A mistake was made with the 2.0 milestone.
What should have happened was: that it should have been created as
2.0beta1, or whatever, and then releasing the first beta release would
have used that milestone; open blockers would get migrated to the next
rc (or we might not have done the beta :P)
What happened was that the '2.0' milestone hasn't been released and its
not clear/easy to manage bugs at the moment.
I'm not sure if its worth trying to pretty up the released bugs, but
please be sure to target bugs that you land fixes for in the 2.0 branch
to 2.0rc2, its what we're working on - and I'm moving the 5 or so open
targeted bugs to rc2 right now.
Our current docs say"
Starting a cycle:
* Add milestones at <https://edge.launchpad.net/bzr/2.0/+addmilestone>
to that series for the beta release, release candidate and the final
release, and their expected dates.
"
and then
"Starting the release phase
When it's time to make the first beta release or release candidate:
1. Create a new milestone at
<https://launchpad.net/bzr/2.0/+addmilestone> for the beta
release or release candidate.
"
I think this is inconsistent: doing a release should /not/ make a
milestone, it should be using the existing milestone that we've been
putting fixed bugs against.
I think what it should say is rather:
- when we make a release on a series:
- make a milestone *for the next release planned for that series*.
E.g. when 2.0rc2 is released, make a 2.0rc3 milestone.
- If the current milestone is wrongly labelled edit it to change the
label. E.g. if we have 2.0rc3 as a label but decide that we're
releasing 2.0final, edit the milestone to be called 2.0
- If the series is wrong (e.g. for the first release off of bzr.dev
into a new branch, the series might still be bzr.dev) edit that too.
