I wasn't thinking of it in any terms except a number of revisions, since
that's what Bazaar was telling me (“revision 400 of 27537” or some such;
I'm no longer able to get any output, so can't reproduce the message).

Wow. I have no idea how I would determine this from the symptoms; I
wonder how many others in similar situations are just giving up on “slow
Bazaar”.
