Indeed.  I feel really dumb now.  All I can say is, it was EOD
when I wrote that (i.e. end of day) :-/

That's what I said, but Alexander's right; tree-eol should
default to "exact".  "Exact" fails safe -- it avoids corrupting
any binary files that might slip through the configuration
cracks.
