... I'll add that, because we do little compilation of Bazaar at build
time, I don't see having an isolated build environment as being a
really top-priority problem.  It's basically just a matter of running
pyrex and docutils and tarring up the results, and those rarely seem
to vary enough to have problems.  However, isolated reproducible
builds are better than not, so by all means go for it.
