I don't think we should release the RC with selftest failing for you.
If it fails for you, it will fail for others.

I think you need to investigate which change introduced the failure.
Once you know that (or now if your limited in time today), please
send an email to the list with a title making it obvious that we
need this fixed urgently and your guess as to the root cause.
