Bug: pushing a stacked branch connects multiple times

So it seems this is something more fundamental with stacked branches.
Because when I went to checkout this branch it again connected 4 times.

I'm guessing the code that grabs the stacked-on branch/repository isn't
re-using the transport, but I haven't looked at the code.
