bzr 1.8 release plans and manager wanted

John's just done 1.7rc2, and we plan to do 1.7final early next week.

Next is 1.8, and we need a release manager for that and a schedule.
Would someone new like to do it?

The regular dates for it would be

  Monday 6 October 1.8rc1
  Monday 13 October 1.8 final

Given that we have had some fixes post rc1 in 1.7 perhaps we should
have a longer rc period.
