1.7rc1 possibly delayed

Just a note to let people know. My son and wife are sick today, so I'm
focused on keeping them well. I'll still try to get a 1.7rc1 done, but
at the moment, I'm expecting it to slip until tomorrow. There are a
couple of patches we should look at to see if we want them for 1.7
(mostly test fixing patches from Mark and Vincent).
