Tortoise will not be bound to gtk at all - it is more a matter of choosing
the toolkit that offers the best interface - but critically, also has the
best community support moving forward so Tortoise automatically takes
advantage of GUI work done on other platforms.

I'll check out the Qt GUI now that I'm aware it exists ;)
