[MERGE] Fix bug #173944 - adding files below symlink causes error

Hi all,

I've attached a patch (including a test case) fixing bug #173944.  The
basic idea is to make _add_one_and_parent() no longer add files below a
symlink directory.  I'm relatively new to Python, so let me know if this
needs to go in a different direction.
