Any chance you could get your mail client to attach these patches as "Text"
rather than as "application/octet-stream" (And Content-Disposition: inline
instead of attachment is nice, too.)

I really prefer doing most of my reading in my mail application, since it lets
me track through the threads at the same time.

Note: I don't have any idea how to do this for Outlook, sometimes just changing
the file extension is enough. I've used .diff and .patch, but we certainly can
handle a .txt which is actually a merge directive.
