Yes I think versioned properties are needed for end of line support (but 
even if not they are a nice feature to have anyway). I really think 
subversion got this right (one of the few things they did though!). The 
end of line style is a property of a file id (not path or regular 
expression) and so doing things this way is the correct way (IMHO). It 
supports all the features of any other approach (and is more flexible) 
and using a file for automatic properties when adding makes it as 
convenient to use. It's the only thing that rocks about subversion. I 
hope Bazaar adopts this approach....
