I should say that in my understanding windows version of bzr
is far below 1.0 quality level. And I will not sit down and shut up.

Probably on Linux bzr works very well, that's why there is consensus
between developers about releasing 1.0.
But for me it's just political decision that has nothing in common
with real state of windows version.

When Ian wrote in his recent comparisons about good windows support
in bzr -- I think he slightly wrong here. Bazaar competitors have almost
the same level of windows support: in some areas bzr is better, in some
it's worse. There is even port of git to windows (that works without cygwin).
Fast releasing of windows installers does not indicate maturity and
don't flag there is no real problems on win32. IMO, most of developers
know about the main windows problem: lack of support of case-insensitive
filesystem. It's the very important point. And what worse this support
never planned in bzr core design, so adding it now require a bunch
of workarounds or serious rewrite some parts of working tree
model.

When Ian wrote that "PQM ... ensures that the mainline of the development
branch never breaks" -- it's just not true if we talk about windows version of bzr.
It breaks and breaks fairly often.

So, releasing 1.0 now is inevitable thing, but it's still 0.93 for windows, IMO.
I'll be happy if this fact will be represented more clear. In the end, it's your
choice, Martin. I will not refuse to build windows installers with any release
number. This numbers are just numbers for me. Because I know what is inside
the box actually.

But I'd like to see some changes in windows support. More attention
from core dev to windows problems. Automatic testing of windows version,
at least in wine environment. More windows developers in the end. Anything
is better than nothing. I just have not enough free time besides my regular
job to implement serious changes re windows support.

come in first.

I want to send workaround for problem with symlinks on windows. At least user should not
see traceback:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr/+bug/81689

For me this problem is too annoying to let it slide in 1.0.

Other frequent windows bugs either fixed now or have some workarounds.
