[MERGE] Make pull more forgiving of its location

That it's not related to what I was trying to do?   :)

I wasn't trying to pull from a parent; that branch doesn't even _have_
a parent, come to that.  I was trying to pull from a specific location
(itself, but that's hardly relevant to the bug), and annoyed at the
bug that the location had to be the branch root, so I have to "bzr
pull -rfoo ../../.." (or was it four steps up?  I can't remember, and
had to stop and think at the time, which was awful annoying).
