[MERGE] Restore environment variables in a timely fashion (bug 124153)

Hello,

I ran across this problem using bzrlib.tests.TestCaseWithTransport in
the Launchpad test suite.

I'm not sure that I can say anything helpful that I haven't already
said on: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr/+bug/124153

In summary, TestCaseWithTransport assumes that the environment is
correct when it calls _finishLogFile. This patch makes that assumption
correct.

This patch also corrects a typo in a docstring that was playing tricks
with my syntax highlighting.
