baz is an old program and development on it has ceased.  I would
recommend using another VCS like bzr (Yes, it's called Bazaar also) instead.

To solve your immediate problem, set the tree version and add the
appropriate patchlog.  (Normally you should specify the fully-qualified
version name to init-tree, to avoid doing having to do this.)

e.g:
 $baz tree-version me at example.com/category--branch--0
 $baz add-log-version me at example.com/category--branch--0
 $baz import
